Yahoo-Adresse in
englisch.
New York Times, die
Washington Post und die
Los Angeles Times bringen selbstverständlich ständige Aktualisierungen und Videos. Die Suchmaschine
Google hat auf einer
Seite die Links zu den wichtigsten
englischsprachigen und
internationalen Internetmedien zusammengefasst. Noch wesentlich kompletter ist die
Zusammenstellung bei dem Online-Magazin
Slate.
Server scheinen
überlastet zu sein.
Hinzuweisen ist auf das Internetmagazin
Salon, das das Thema bereits analytischer angeht. Hier finden wir etwa ein
Interview mit dem Terrorismusexperten
Michele Zanini, Autor des Buchs
"Countering the New Terrorism".
Kommunikation einsetzte. Ein weitere Artikel von Salon
untersucht die Reaktionen in
Web-Communities und verzeichnet sehr viele
rassistische Postings.
Das Online-Magazin
Slate stellt dagegen sehr konkrete Fragen, etwa "
How Good Were the World Trade Center
Pilots?" oder "
Why Did the World Trade Center Towers
Collapse?".
Wo findet man Hintergründe zum
neuen Terrorismus?
Etwa beim
Informationszentrum Sozialwissenschaften in Bonn.
"Terrorism Research Center", das sich auf seiner "About"-Seite so vorstellt: "Founded in 1996, the Terrorism Research Center, Inc. (TRC) is an
independent institute dedicated to the research of terrorism, information warfare, critical infrastructure protection and other issues of low-intensity political violence and gray-area phenomena."
Ehud Sprinzak, der folgende These vertritt: "What makes
suicide bombers tick? While most of the world sees them as
lone zealots, they are, in fact, pawns of large terrorist networks that wage
calculated psychological warfare. Contrary to popular belief, suicide bombers can be stopped-but only if
governments pay more attention to their methods and motivations."
In
hinweist: "Islamic Militants,
once encouraged by the United States, now threaten ist".
Artikel "The Counterterrorist Myth" von
an. Hier ein wahrhaft grausiger Auszug: "A former senior
Near East Division operative says, 'The CIA probably doesn't have a single truly qualified
Arabic-speaking officer of Middle Eastern background who can play a believable Muslim fundamentalist who would volunteer to spend years of his life with
shitty food and no women in the mountains of Afghanistan. For Christ's sake, most case officers live in the
suburbs of Virginia. We don't do that kind of thing.' A younger case officer boils the problem down even further: 'Operations that
include diarrhea as a way of life don't happen.'"
Abschließend noch ein paar Links zu
Osama bin Laden selbst.
bin Ladens.
